New Season

Sorry for the lack of updates recently but I have been busy giving birth and getting used to being a mum for the 1st time!

It hasn't been the best start to a new season but from what I can gather from match reports and MOTD we have been playing ok but we lack the killer touch in front of goal. Hopefully last nights win in the Carling Cup will give us some confidence and we can start to rack up some points in the league, I am already annoyed to see the Dingles above us in the table even if it is still August. 


If anyone has anything that they would like to contribute to the site then please contact us and I shall attempt to make it happen!

Transfers

Not much happening with transfers so far. Givet has arrived and Santa is still a Rovers player (for the moment at least!). It is too early to say what will happen as normally all the activity seems to take place on the last day.

Having said that Man City seem keen to flash their cash early making an outrageous bid for Kaka. It is amazing to think that once Rovers were being accused of ruining the game for paying 'above the odds' for the likes of Shearer! To think when we sold Shearer to Newcastle there was amazement that he went for £15 million. Seems like a bargain now!

Spurs Sunday

Jol Gone... Just Need to Fear The Backlash!

Well, Spurs defeat in Europe during the week ended up seeing off Martin Jol. Further more Juande Ramos has been appointed as his replacement.

Hopefully Rovers will be able to show (what most 'football' people have thought all along) that the problem with Spurs is on the pitch, and not off of it.

Sunday’s game away to Spurs seems to have taken on all sorts of media interest in the past day or so.

It is easy to see why, as it has become a real ‘must win’ fixture for Tottenham (and more importantly their manager). 

Depending on which daily paper you read it sounds like our very own Sparky is being lined up as a possible replacement at Spurs if they do sack Martin Jol… so I guess we go into the game wanting to win, but in fear of what might happen if we do!!

Player of The Year

For all fully paid up members of the London Branch Supporters Club, the presentation of Player of the Season 06/07 to David Bentley will happen after the Reading match at Ewood on October 20th. The big news today is the launch of our new website

The big news today is the launch of our new website!! It might take a while, but we hope that before too long this site will not only be a place used to ‘get the name out there’ and let everybody know about the London Branch but also might prove to be a site we can also use as a focal point for the branch.
